  1. 1. Safety with Mechanical Chest Compressions in CPR : Clinical studies with the LUCAS™ device

    Författare :David Smekal; Sten Rubertsson; Michael Baubin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiac arrest; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation; Mechanical chest compressions; Active compression-decompression; Injury; Autopsy; LUCAS; Medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Chest compressions in cardiopulmonary resuscitation are of utmost importance although not without a risk. Many injuries are described but the incidence of these is hard to define due to methodological differences. It is strenuous to perform chest compressions and therefore mechanical chest compressions have been looked upon with interest. LÄS MER

  2. 2. LUCAS - Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System

    Författare :Qiuming Liao; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation; Chest compression; Active chest decompression; Mechanical CPR; Defibrillation; Hypothermia;

    Sammanfattning : Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System (LUCAS) is a mechanical device providing automatic 5 cm deep chest compressions and active decompressions back to normal anatomical position with a frequency of 100 per minute, and a duty cycle of 50%, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cardiac Arrest – mechanical chest compressions, gender differences and coronary angiography

    Författare :Erik Lindgren; Sten Rubertsson; Theresa M Olasveengen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cardiac arrest; OHCA; IHCA; CPR; coronary angiography; percutaneous coronary intervention; PCI; mechanical chest compressions; lucas; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiac arrest is a major health problem with over 6000 cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and 2500 cases of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) per year in Sweden. Survival are low. Many factors affect the chances of survival, including effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation and optimal post resuscitation care. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cardiac arrest outside and inside hospital from a 30 year perspective in the Municipality of Gothenburg

    Nyckelord :cardiac arrest; heart arrest; mechanical chest compression; prognosis; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; in-hospital cardiac arrest; Utstein; outcome; DNAR;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: 1:To describe the epidemiology of both out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) in the Municipality of Gothenburg. 2:To describe the differences and similarities in cardiac arrest inside and outside hospital. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of various strategies to improve outcome after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest with particular focus on mechanical chest compressions

    Författare :Christer Axelsson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; mechanical chest compressions; end tidal carbon dioxide; passive leg raising; dispatch code; randomised clinical trial; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; mechanical chest compressions; end tidal carbon dioxide; passive leg raising; dispatch code; randomised clinical trial;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills vary among health care professionals. A previous study revealed that chest compressions were only performed half the time in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). Field conditions and fatigue could be possible explanations. LÄS MER
