  1. 6. CO2 activation for methanol synthesis on copper and indium oxide surfaces

    Författare :Alvaro Posada Borbon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Methanol conversion; Heterogeneous catalysis; Density functional theory; Copper surface; Indium oxide; CO2 reduction;

    Sammanfattning : Catalytic recycling of CO2 to added-value chemicals, such as methanol (CH3OH), has been proposed as a possible way for sustainable production of fuel and chemicals, in addition to providing a route to mitigate climate change. Multiple systems are known to be active for the conversion of CO2 to methanol, and the state of the art catalyst is Cu/ZnO/Al2O3. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Chemical and Morphological Characterisation of Aerosol Particles in the Tropopause Region

    Författare :Hung Nguyen Ngoc; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CARIBIC; Physics; Singel particle analysis TEM and EFTEM; Carbon and Sulphur; Light element analysis; Aerosol sampler; Chemical Characterisation; Aerosol in the Tropopause Region; Nuclear physics; Technological sciences; Fysik; Teknik; Kärnfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:000;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to study atmospheric aerosols, focusing on the chemical composition, the morphology and the origin of the aerosol in the upper troposphere and lowermost stratosphere. An aerosol sampler was developed for this purpose. A new method for quantitative analysis of the major components of the aerosol, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 8. First Principles Studies on Chemical and Electronic Structures of Adsorbates

    Författare :Wenhua Zhang; Yi Luo; Gianfranco Pacchioni; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solid state chemistry; Fasta tillståndets kemi; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik; Surfaces and interfaces; Ytor och mellanytor;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we focus on theoretical study of adsorbates on metal and oxide surfaces that are important for surface chemistry and catalysis. Based on first principles calculations, the adsorption ofCO, NO, NO2, C4H6S2, C22H27SH and other molecules or radicals on nobel metal surfaces (gold and silver) are investigated. LÄS MER
