  1. 1. Fundamental Characterization and Technical Aspects of a Chelating Surfactant

    Författare :Ida Svanedal; Håkan Edlund; Magnus Norgren; Krister Holmberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chelating surfactant; DTPA based surfactant; pH-responsive; characterization; surface tension; NMR diffusometry; conditional stability constants; interaction parameter; ion flotation;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate the fundamental characteristics of a chelating surfactant in terms of solution behaviour, chelation of divalent metal ions, and interaction in mixtures with different foaming agents and divalent metal ion, as well as examining its prospects in some practical applications. Chelating surfactants are functional molecules, with both surface active and chelating properties, which are water soluble and therefore suitable for chelation in many aqueous environments. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Selective Separation Of Wood Components In Internal Process Waters Originating From Mechanical Pulping

    Författare :Dariusz Zasadowski; Magnus Norgren; Bjarne Holmbom; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; flotation; foaming agents; chelating surfactant; TMP process water; pitch control; internal cleaning stage; hemicellulose recovery; anti‐solvents; solvents; precipitation;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved and Colloidal substances (DSC) and metals are released from woodduring thermomechanical pulp (TMP) production. These components have atendency to accumulate in process waters, as the water circulation systems inintegrated paper mills are closed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. REMOVAL OF LIPOPHILIC EXTRACTIVES AND MANGANESE IONS FROM SPRUCE TMP WATER BY FLOTATION

    Författare :Dariusz Zasadowski; Magnus Norgren; Anna Sundberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flotation; Foaming agents; Chelating surfactant; TMP process water; Pitch control; Internal cleaning stage;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved and Colloidal substances (DisCo) and metals are released from wood during thermomechanical pulp (TMP) production. The mechanical treatment causes that these components have a tendency to accumulate in process waters, as the water circulation systems in integrated paper mills are being closed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Metal-Chelate Complexes in Alkaline Solution : On Recovery Techniques and Cellulose-based Hybrid Material Synthesis

    Författare :Alireza Eivazihollagh; Håkan Edlund; Magnus Norgren; Joakim Bäckström; Christian Ekberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : For decades, aminopolycarboxylate chelating agents have been extensively used in various industrial applications. The ability of chelating agents to form stable metal-chelate complexes is the main reason for using them to manage metal ions within water-based industrial processes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Design and Development of Mineral Structure Specific Collectors in Flotation

    Författare :Tommy Karlkvist; Beena Rai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : The success of mineral flotation processes depends on the hydrophobization of the surface for the desired mineral particles whilst keeping, or making, all other minerals hydrophilic. This is achieved by adding several reagents to the flotation pulp to adsorb selectively at the mineral/water interface. LÄS MER
