  1. 26. Charge-transfer excitations and phtophysical properties of molecular building blocks

    Författare :Oscar Rubio Pons; Yi Luo; Antonio Rizzo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Theoretical chemistry; Photophysical porperties; CCSD; CASSCF; Teoretisk kemi; Theoretical chemistry; Teoretisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis reports a state-of-the-art theoretical study of photophysical properties of organic charge-transfer aromatic molecules. These molecules are building blocks of molecular functional materials used in modern photonics technology and play essential roles in chemistry and biology in general. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Photoinduced Processes in Molecular-Inorganic Materials - Design Strategies for Control of Photophysical and Photochemical Processes

    Författare :Elin Sundin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photochemistry; hybrid materials; solar energy conversion; charge separation; electron transfer; singlet fission; dye-sensitized semiconductors; mechanistic studies;

    Sammanfattning : Sunlight is the most abundant renewable energy resource on Earth and has the potential to provide our society with clean energy. Despite this abundancy, solar energy corresponds to only a minority of the global energy production. Two major reasons for this are the limited efficiencies of solar cells and the difficulty of storing solar energy. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Photoelectrochemical studies of dye-sensitized solar cells using organic dyes

    Författare :Tannia Marinado; Anders Hagfeldt; Katoh Ryuzi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; additive; charge recombination; coadsorbent; conduction band shift; dye-sensitized; electron lifetime; electron-transfer; organic dye; photoelectrochemical; photovoltaic; sensitizer; semiconductor; solar cell; solar cell efficiency; titanium dioxide; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is a promising efficient low-cost molecular photovoltaic device. One of the key components in DSCs is the dye, as it is responsible for the capture of sunlight. State-of-the-art DSC devices, based on ruthenium dyes, show record efficiencies of 10-12 %. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Theoretical Studies on Electronic Structure, Spectra and Conductivity of Pristine and Alkali Doped Polyacetylene

    Författare :Lucía Mercedes Rodrigues Monge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; theoretical calculations; electron transfer; conductivity; polyacetylene; alkali metal; ab-initio methods; charge transport; semiempirical methods; doping;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is a theoretical investigation of the electronic properties of linear polyenes to get an insight into conductive phenomena in pristine and doped polyacetylene. Conductivity in polyacetylene is a complex phenomena and cannot be treated within simple band models. LÄS MER
