   Sammanfattning : The shoot apical meristem (SAM) is the structure that shapes the aerial architecture of the plant, by producing lateral organs throughout development. In the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, the SAM is always identifiable as a characteristic dome, whether it is found in the centre of a rosette of leaves or at the tip of an inflorescence. LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : In this Thesis we discuss properties of different ballistic microstructures in the presence of a magnetic field. Three topics have been studied: (i) the magnetoconductance of a three-dimensional (3D) microwire, (ii) magnetotransport and persistent currents in a two-dimensional so called "quantum dot" in a gated AlGaAs heterostructure, and (iii) some magnetotransport properties of a quasi one-dimensional conducting channel in the same kind of material.    Sammanfattning : The nucleus is a mesoscopic system that retains features from both the quantum and macroscopic worlds. A basic property of a macroscopic body is its shape.
