6. Quality-Driven Production of Aggregates in Crushing Plants
Sammanfattning : Aggregate quality is of great importance, and in this context it is essential to understand how various process parameters influence the product quality characteristics. Thus, there is a need for aggregate producers to improve their process knowledge. LÄS MER
7. Aggregating Case Studies of Vehicle Crashes by Means of Causation Charts : An Evaluation and Revision of the Driving Reliability and Error Analysis Method
Sammanfattning : There is a need for increased knowledge about causes to motor-vehicle crashes and their prevention. Multidisciplinary in-depth case studies can provide detailed causation data that is otherwise unattainable. Such data might allow the formulation of hypotheses of causes and causal relationships for further study. LÄS MER
8. Numerical Analysis of Moisture-Related Distortion in Sawn Timber
Sammanfattning : A 3D theory for the numerical simulation of deformations and stresses in wood during moisture variation is described. The constitutive model employed assumes the total strain rate to be the sum of the elastic strain rate, the moisture-induced strain rate, the mechano-sorption strain rate and the creep strain rate. 9. Feasibility study of soil washing to remediate mercury contaminated soil
Sammanfattning : Mercury (Hg) cannot be degraded. Therefore only two principal processes are available for the treatment of Hg-contaminated soil: (1) the separation of Hg from the soil or (2) the stabilisation of Hg within the soil. Prior to selecting a suitable treatment technique, it is necessary to have an understanding of Hg behaviour in contaminated soil, i.e. LÄS MER
10. Computational modeling of complex flow : Doctoral thesis at Chalmers University of Technology
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we consider the following aspects of computational modeling of complex flows: (i) subgrid modeling, (ii) stability, (iii) a posteriori error estimation, and (iv) computational platform. We develop a framework for adaptivity and error control for multiscale problems, in particular for turbulent flow, based on a posteriori error estimates. LÄS MER
