16. A Study of an Integrated Safety System for the Protection of Adult Pedestrians from Car Collisions
Sammanfattning : This study aimed to evaluate and improve the performance of a newly developed safety system intended to protect pedestrians during frontal car collisions. This system includes a remote sensor system, a contact sensor, a reversible bumper system (RBS), and a reversible hood (RH). LÄS MER
17. Real-Time Optimization of Cone Crushers
Sammanfattning : Cone crushers are used in the mineral, mining, and aggregate industry for fragmentation and production of rock materials. Cone crusher control systems are widely used for machine protection, wear compensation and, to some extent, increasing production. These systems ordinarily focus on the crusher and not the yield of production process. LÄS MER
18. Nanoplasmonic Biosensing - Exploring Unique Possibilities
Sammanfattning : Bioanalytical sensors are indispensible tools in medical diagnostics and drug discovery as well as for life science research, environmental monitoring and food safety. In essence, they are used to detect and determine the concentrations of specific biomolecules in complex mixtures. LÄS MER
19. Lean NOx reduction over silver-alumina catalysts - Aspects on synthesis, structure and activity
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to increase the understanding of how to design highly active silver-alumina catalysts for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with hydrocarbons (HC-SCR) in oxygen excess at low temperatures (150-250 °C). Silver-alumina catalysts have been prepared using different methods, including a new unique preparation method developed during the thesis project. LÄS MER
20. Metals in MSWI fly ash - problems or opportunities?
Sammanfattning : Incineration of municipal solid waste is a commonly used management method to take care of our waste. However, the residues produced are a problem. They often contain large amounts of potentially toxic metal compounds and soluble salts, which can cause harm to the environment and human health if released from the ash. LÄS MER
