  1. 1. Phosphorylated Cellulose Nanofibrils : A Nano-Tool for Preparing Cellulose-Based Flame-Retardant Materials

    Författare :Maryam Ghanadpour; Lars Wågberg; Jeffrey W. Gilman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; phosphorylated cellulose nanofibrils; flame-retardant; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : The growing awareness of the need for a circular society and a circular chemistry has spurred the interest in using wood-based cellulose as a raw material for the preparation of new macroscopic devices and construction materials. The interest has been particularly focused on cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), which has led to the development of new material concepts through a nanoscale bottom-up engineering using renewable CNF. 2. 2. Tailoring Cellulose Nanofibrils for Advanced Materials

    Författare :Núria Butchosa Robles; Qi Zhou; Kristiina Oksman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cellulose nanofibrils; bacterial cellulose; surface modification; carboxymethyl cellulose; polyethylene glycol; chitin nanocrystals; bactericidal activity; nanofibrils orientation; water redispersability; mechanical properties; dye removal; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) are nanoscale fibers of high aspect ratio that can be isolated from a wide variety of cellulosic sources, including wood and bacterial cellulose. With high strength despite of their low density, CNFs are a promising renewable building block for the preparation of nanostructured materials and composites. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microfibrillated cellulose: Energy-efficient preparation techniques and applications in paper

    Författare :Mikael Ankerfors; Lars Wågberg; Akira Isogai; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microfibrillated cellulose; microfibrillar cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; nanofibrillar cellulose; cellulose nanofibrils; nanocellulose; MFC; NFC; CNF; production techniques; energy efficient; gel properties; films; enzymes; carboxymethylation; carboxymethyl cellulose; CMC; mechanical properties; oxygen barrier; homogenization; linting; papermaking; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : This work describes three alternative processes for producing microfibrillated cellulose (MFC; also referred to as cellulose nanofibrils, CNF) in which bleached pulp fibres are first pretreated and then homogenized using a high-pressure homogenizer. In one process, fibre cell wall delamination was facilitated by a combined enzymatic and mechanical pretreatment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cellulose Nanofibril Networks and Composites : Preparation, Structure and Properties

    Författare :Marielle Henriksson; Lars Berglund; Alain Dufresne; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cellulose nanocomposites; microfibrillated cellulose; nanofibrils; biofibers; mechanical properties; deformation mechanisms; molar mass; endoglucanase; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Träbaserade cellulosananofibriller är intressanta som förstärkande fas i polymera nanokompositer; detta främst på grund av den kristallina cellulosans höga styvhet och på grund av nanofibrillernas förmåga att bilda nätverk. Cellulosananofibriller kan användas i form av mikrokristallin cellulosa, MCC, som har lågt längd/diameter förhållande, eller i form av mikrofibrillerad cellulosa, MFC, med högt längd/diameter förhållande. Sammanfattning : The major load bearing component in native wood, cellulose nanofibrils, are potential candidates for use as reinforcement in polymer matrices. This study is based on nanocellulose composites and attempts to prepare and characterize biocomposites with high nanocellulose content and investigate the influence of nanostructure on macroscopic properties.
