  1. 21. Identification and Characterization of Proteins and MicroRNAs that Modulate Receptor Signaling, Vesicular Trafficking and Cell Migration in Vascular Cells

    Författare :Johan Heldin; Johan Kreuger; Jonas Fuxe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Angiogenesis; cell migration; signaling; VEGF; FGD5; ExoC3L2; microRNA; RhoD; Molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Blood vessels deliver nutrients and oxygen to tissues. Importantly, the functions and growth of blood vessels are commonly altered in disease. The inside of all blood vessels are lined with endothelium, a thin specialized layer of endothelial cells that separate the blood from other tissues. LÄS MER

  2. 22. T-Cell Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, a Regulator of the PDGF Signaling Pathway

    Författare :Susann Karlsson; Carina Hellberg; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Bengt Hallberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PDGF; TC-PTP; receptor trafficking; PK-M2; Medical cell biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a potent stimulator of cell growth, survival and motility. PDGF exerts its function by binding to specific tyrosine kinase receptors, initiating receptor auotphosphorylation and initiation of specific signaling pathways that regulates the cellular response. Sammanfattning : Biological processes take place through interactions between macromolecules, such as nucleic acids and proteins. It is, therefore, fundamental to understand the functions of proteins and how they form complexes in order to carry out their role. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Development of DNA-based methods for analysis of protein interactions

    Författare :Axel Klaesson; Ola Söderberg; Mats Nilsson; Cristina Al-Khalili Szigyarto; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : In situ proximity ligation assay (PLA) is a method for detection of protein interactions, post-translational modifications (PTMs) and individual proteins that allows information about their localization in a cell or tissue to be extracted. The method is based on oligonucleotide-conjugated antibodies (proximity probes) that upon binding of two epitopes in close proximity give rise to an amplifiable DNA circle. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Fibroblast growth factor-induced signal transduction

    Författare :Peter Klint; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) evoke cellular responses by binding to FGF receptors (FGFRs). FGFRs are cell surface expressed membrane-spanning receptors with intrinsic stimulatable tyrosine kinase activity. This thesis describes the cell proliferation or differentiation. LÄS MER
