11. Membrane-remodeling by SNX18 in endosomal transport and autophagy
Sammanfattning : The intracellular space of eukaryotic cells is subdivided into functionally distinct membrane-enclosed organelles. Regulation of these intracellular membranes requires an intricate network of specialized lipids and proteins that maintain organellar integrity and mediate transport between organelles. LÄS MER
12. Droplet microfluidics for screening and sorting of microbial cell factories
Sammanfattning : Cell factories are cells that have been engineered to produce a compound of interest, ranging from biopharmaceuticals to biofuels. With advances in metabolic engineering, the number of cell factory variants to evaluate has increased dramatically, necessitating screening methods with increased throughput. LÄS MER
13. A novel principle for immunomodulator delivery with hematopoietic cells as vehicles Focus on soluble TNF-receptor gene expression, targeting to secretory lysosomes and regulated secretion
Sammanfattning : The goal of this research is to use hematopoietic cells as vehicles for targeting transgenic immunomodulators to the inflammatory sites. The work presented was focused on the anti-inflammatory soluble TNF receptor. A transmembrane soluble TNF receptor (sTNFR1) construct was expressed in hematopoietic cell lines. LÄS MER
14. Cell Sorting in Pillar Arrays based on Electrokinetics and Morphology
Sammanfattning : Deterministic Lateral Displacement (DLD) is a method capable of sorting cells based on size where mechanicalinteractions between a sufficiently large particle and obstacles in a microfludic pillar array force the particle tofollow a different trajectory than their smaller counterparts, resulting in continuous lateral separation. To extendthe capability of DLD, electrical interaction between particles and pillars can be employed to complement themechanical interaction, making electrical/dielectric properties additional parameters for sorting. 15. Predicting the route: from protein sequence to sorting in eukaryotic cell
Sammanfattning : Proteins need to be localised in the correct compartment of a eukaryotic cell to function correctly. Therefore, a protein needs to be transported to the right location. Specific signals present in the protein sequence direct proteins to different subcellular localisations. LÄS MER
