    Författare :Mats Åkesson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatiska system; control engineering; robotics; Automation; dissolved oxygen; acetate; glucose feeding; robotteknik; Escherichia coli; Process control; fed-batch cultivation; reglerteknik; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Production of many proteins can today be made using genetically modified organisms. One of the most frequently used host organisms is the bacterium Escherichia coli. A difficulty encountered in cultivations of E. coli is the accumulation of the metabolic by-product acetate which inhibits cell growth and production of a desired protein. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The recombinant DNA techniques have made it possible to produce many different proteins for a wide range of applications. The vector encoding for the recombinant protein is often inserted in the bacterium E. coli as it is a well studied and a well-known organism. To achieve a high productivity, it is important to reach a high cell density. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The cell wall ultrastructure of wood fibres : effects of the chemical pulp fibre line

    Författare :Jesper Fahlén; Ulf W. Gedde; Drek G. Gray; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Chemical engineering; atomic force microscopy; cellulose; cell wall; drying; fiber; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge of the ultrastructural arrangement within wood fibres is important for understanding the mechanical properties of the fibres themselves, as well as for understanding and controlling the ultrastructural changes that occur during pulp processing. The object of this work was to explore the use of atomic force microscopy (AFM) in studies of the cell wall ultrastructure and to see how this structure is affected in the kraft pulp fibre line. 5. 5. Modelling and Numerical Analysis of the Centrifugal Compressor and its Operation in the Pressurised SOFC GT Process

    Författare :Andre Hildebrandt; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; radial compressor; Gas Turbine; Termisk teknik; Solid Oxide Fuel Cell; termodynamik;

    Sammanfattning : Small-scale power plants based on the SOFC-GT (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell-Gas Turbine) system are foreseen for future application such as APU units in flight transportation systems or stationary power production. Although these new systems offer high load flexibility and potentially high efficiency, there are several constraints referring to thermal/mechanical stress of the fuel cell as well as to a potential risk of aerodynamic instability of the GT compressor due to the different physical behavior of the SOFC and the GT.
