1. Early identification of motor problems in very preterm infants : An evaluation of the Structured Observation of Motor Performance in Infants
Sammanfattning : Infants born very preterm are at risk of adverse neurodevelopment. It is important to identify motor problems early to initiate interventions aiming at ameliorating outcomes. Evaluating motor development in high-risk infants is a complex task. There is a need for assessment methods for early identification of abnormal motor performance. LÄS MER
2. Perspektiv i polisprotokoll
Sammanfattning : The subject of this study is perspective in police reports. The overall aim is to introduce new tools for analysing perspective in written narratives. LÄS MER
3. Can Bone Void Fillers Carry Load? : Behaviour of Calcium Phosphate Cements Under Different Loading Scenarios
Sammanfattning : Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) are used as bone void fillers and as complements to hardware in fracture fixation. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the possibilities and limitations of the CPCs’ mechanical properties, and find out if these ceramic bone cements can carry application-specific loads, alone or as part of a construct. 4. On Crack Dynamics in Brittle Heterogeneous Materials
Sammanfattning : Natural variation, sub-structural features, heterogeneity and porosity make fracture modelling of wood and many other heterogeneous and cellular materials challenging. In this thesis, fracture in such complicated materials is simulated using phase field methods for fracture. LÄS MER
5. Functional properties of silicon nitride based materials for joint applications
Sammanfattning : Total hip and total knee replacements are generally successful procedures for patients suffering with pain due to bone fracture or diseases affecting the joints. However, the materials that are commonly used still have limitations. In particular, corrosion products and wear debris may give rise to negative body reactions. LÄS MER
