  1. 1. Social causality in motion Visual bias and categorization of social interactions during the observation of chasing in infancy

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Martyna A. Galazka; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; social causality; motion; animacy perception; chasing goal-directed motion; heat-seeking; EEG; P400; Nc; spatial proximity; non-contact causality; functional specialization; specialized perception; evolution; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Since the seminal work of Fritz Heider and Marienne Simmel (1944) the study of animacy perception, or the perception and attribution of life from the motion of simple geometrical shapes has intrigued researchers. The intrigue for psychologists and vision scientists then and today centered on the stark disconnect between the simplicity of the visual input and the universal richness of the resulting percept. 2. 2. 3D Occlusion Management and Causality Visualization

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Niklas Elmqvist; [2006]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; causality; occlusion reduction; interaction techniques; visualization; occlusion management; information visualization; causal relations;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is split into two parts: one part dealing with the management of occlusion in 3D environments, the other with the visualization of causal relations. Both of these parts fall within the general framework of visualization---the graphical representation of data (abstract or concrete) with the purpose of amplifying cognition---but they do so in different ways. 3. 3. A Treatise on Measuring Wiener-Granger Causality

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Mathematics, Stockholm University

    Författare :Mehrdad Jafari-Mamaghani; Stockholms universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wiener-Granger causality; Information theory; Kernel canonical correlation; Systems Microscopy; Cell migration.; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Wiener-Granger causality is a well-established concept of causality based on stochasticity and the flow of time, with applications in a broad array of quantitative sciences. The majority of methods used to measure Wiener-Granger causality are based on linear premises and hence insensitive to non-linear signals. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Switched Bond Graphs : Simulation and Analysis

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Krister Edström; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1999]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bond graphs; Hybrid systems; Modeling; Simulation; Causality; Discontinuities;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis an approach to modeling and simulation of mode switching systems is investigated. This approach, switched bond graphs, is an extension of the bond graph language in the sense that it allows modeling of mode switching phenomena.The classical bond graph language as well as the switched bond graph language are presented. 5. 5. "Förklaringar är ju allt på nåt sätt" En undersökning av hur fem lärare använder historiska förklaringar i undervisningen

    Detta är en avhandling från Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Joakim Wendell; Karlstads universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; high school; class room study; history education; historical explanation; causality; cause and consequence; historical thinking concepts; History; Historia;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this multiple case study is to investigate how high school history teachers in Sweden use historical explanations in their classroom teaching.  Specifically, the study explores how explanations are constructed in the clasroom interactions, and what thinking tools, if any, the teachers use to help students grasp central aspects of the historical explanation in question.
