    Sammanfattning : The present study provides a description of the standardization process of Persian orthography since the introduction of the Arabic alphabet, with a focus on this process in modern times (1850-2000). Using theories related to orthography standardization as its background, this work seeks an explanation for the prolonged standardization process of Persian orthography, and presents the frameworks within which this standardization has been carried out.     Sammanfattning : The focus of this study is evidentiality—the grammatical marking of information source—in written and spoken Tajik. For marking evidential statements, Tajik employs a secondary register of verb forms (called register II forms) that all end in -a: the Perfect and the Perfectoids (the Perfectoid Imperfect and Perfectoid Pluperfect).     Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study is to investigate how men and women in three Iranian Balochi dialects, Coastal Balochi, Koroshi Balochi and Sistani Balochi, refer to 3rd person participants in oral narratives of two genres: folktales and biographical tales. The stories that are analysed were recorded during several field trips to Iran and the approach used is that of Levinsohn (1994, 2015). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Wakhi is one of the endangered “Pamir” languages belonging to the East Iranian group of Indo-European. A total of around 72,000 Wakhi speakers live in the border areas of four countries: Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China. This study focuses on the Wakhi spoken in Tajikistan, which for a long time was unwritten. LÄS MER
