  1. 6. MECHANISMS OF ENHANCED ACTIVITY OF MODEL TiO2/CARBON and TiO2/METAL NANOCOMPOSITE PHOTOCATALYSTS

    Författare :Raja Sellappan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photocatalysis; graphite; solar energy conversion; graphene; localized surface plasmon resonance; photocatalytic mechanisms; nanocomposites; TiO2; carbon;

    Sammanfattning : TiO2 is the most widely used photocatalyst for energy and environmental applications because of its outstanding physical and chemical properties. However, the quantum efficiency of TiO2 is greatly diminished by fast electron-hole pairs recombination and light absorption only in the UV region. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Carbon market; Difference-in-differences; Electricity market; Time series model; Carbon emissions; Global warming; Ocean acidification; Threshold effect; Lump-sum transfers; Equity and efficiency; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay I: In January, 2005, the EU launched the first international emissions trading system (EU ETS), aimed at reducing carbon emissions in a cost-effective way by means of a market-based instrument. In this paper, we use the treatment/control, before/after design of the natural experiment approach to investigate the treatment effect of the EU ETS on the profitability of a sample of Swedish energy firms in 2005 and 2006. 3. 8. Carbon Nanotubes for Electronic Packaging: Growth, Novel Devices and 3D Networks

    Författare :Yifeng Fu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multi-scale modeling; electrospinning; microfin; PDMS; chemical vapor deposition CVD ; Carbon nanotube CNT ; double-walled CNT DWNT ; CNT covalent bonding; CNT transfer; thermal management; packaging;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have shown great potential of application in electronics because of their attractive physical properties, such as high surface-to-volume ratio, high electron mobility, high Young’s modulus, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, etc. However, many obstacles are yet to be removed to use CNTs as building blocks in electronic systems. Författare :MNadeem Zafar; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; WrbA; pyranose dehydrogenase; cellobiose dehydrogenase; glucose dehydrogenase; direct electron transfer; Os-polymers; mediated electron transfer; single-walled carbon nanotubes; amperometric biosensor; biofuel cell; screen-printed electrodes; flow injection analysis; cascade reaction; bioanode;

    Sammanfattning : The catalytic and electrochemical properties of tryptophan repressor-binding protein (WrbA), pyranose dehydrogenase (PDH), cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) on carbon electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and flow injection amperometry to construct biosensors and biofuel cell (BFC) anodes. WrbA has a catalytic FMN-containing domain whereas both PDH and GDH have a catalytic FAD-containing domains. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Synthesis and characterization of palladium based carbon nanostructure-composites and their clean-energy application

    Författare :Florian Nitze; Thomas Wågberg; Ludvig Edman; Kordas Krisztian; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbon nanostructures; chemical vapour deposition; electro catalysts; transmission electron microscopy; direct formic acid fuel cells; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanostructures are a wide field with many applications. The use of carbon nanostructures as support in heterogeneous catalysis is a key development that led together with the use of nanoparticles to a significant cost reduction of catalysts. Catalysts designed in this way are widely applied in fuel cell technologies. LÄS MER
