16. Carbon-nanotube-based nanoelectromechanics
Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes, a novel material with extraordinary mechanical and electrical properties, are good candidates for designing nanoelectromechanical systems. The typical length scale of these systems is nanometers and an important characteristic is a coupling between electrical and mechanical degrees of freedom. LÄS MER
17. Memory Effects on Iron Oxide Filled Carbon Nanotubes
Sammanfattning : In this Licentiate Thesis, the properties and effects of iron and iron oxide filled carbon nanotube (Fe-CNT) memories are investigated using experimental characterization and quantum physical theoretical models. Memory devices based on the simple assembly of Fe-CNTs between two metallic contacts are presented as a possible application involving the resistive switching phenomena of this material. LÄS MER
18. Quantum mechanical effects on charge transport in two mesoscopic systems
Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes are one of the most promising building blocks for the developing field of nanoelectromechanics. Due to their unique electronic and mechanical properties, these all-carbon systems have been suggested for a range of applications where one wishes to utilse the coupling between mechanical and electronic degrees of freedom on the nanometer length scale. 19. Toward Carbon based NEMS
Sammanfattning : A systematic analysis and assessment of carbon nanotube (CNT) based NEMS switches is presented and their features are compared to typical complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) performance parameters. It is shown that CNT-based switches with considerably smaller leakage current compared to CMOS switches can be realized. LÄS MER
20. In silico studies of carbon nano tubes and metal clusters
Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes have been envisioned to become a very important material in various applications. This is due to the unique properties of carbon nanotubes which can be exploited in applications on length scales spanning from the nano world to our macroscopic world. LÄS MER
