  1. 1. Injury Biomechanics in Car-Pedestrian Collisions: Development, Validation and Application of Human-Body Mathematical Models

    Författare :Jikuang Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; impact biomechanics; car; mathematical dynamic model; pedestrian; safety countermeasure;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to develop and validate human-body mathematical models which can be used to simulate the dynamic responses of pedestrians in a car impact. The main focus has been on simulations of bumper impact to the lower extremities, since lower extremity injuries most frequently occur in car-pedestrian accidents and result in long-term consequences and high social costs. 2. 2. Car-To-Car Side Impacts: Development and Validation of Mathematical Models and their Usability for Protective System Design

    Författare :Bengt Pipkorn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dummy; injury criteria; padding; mathematical simulations; barrier; side impact; car; occupant; airbag;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the present work was to develop and use mathematical models to establish principles for protective systems for occupants in car-to-car side impacts. The efforts in this work have concentrated on the protection of the thorax and abdomen since these body parts are most frequently injured in side impacts. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multi-Functional Composite Design Concepts for Rail Vehicle Car Bodies

    Författare :David Wennberg; Sebastian Stichel; Per Wennhage; Thilo Bein; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Car body; Composite; Finite element; Lightweight; Multi-discipline; Multi-functional; Optimisation; Rail Vehicles; Sandwich Panels;

    Sammanfattning : Structures and material combinations, tailored for multiple purposes, are within the reach of vehicle manufacturers. Besides reducing the environmental impact of the transportation sector these multi-functional structures can reduce costs, such as development, manufacturing and maintenance, and at the same time offer improved comfort to the passengers. 4. 4. Child Safety in Car Crashes

    Författare :Marianne Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reconstructions; near-side; evaluations; frontal impact; rigid body; mathematical simulations; rear seat; finite elements; belt positioning booster; side impact; child safety; child seat;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic related trauma is the most common cause of fatality and severe injury to children in developed countries. The majority of these fatalities and injuries are caused by frontal and side impacts. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Knowledge enabled engineering : applied to car body design

    Författare :Stefan Sandberg; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : To stay competitive in a global market companies push to make their product development process more efficient with respect to added customer value, shorter time to market, efficient knowledge and technology transfer. To achieve this they depend on the choice of work procedures, suitable processes, methods, available knowledge and experiences, CAE tools and appropriate competence to manage the mentioned for concept creation and concept realization.
