21. Energy Efficiency Improvements in Household Refrigeration Cooling Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on eight articles all related to the characteristics of the cooling system and plate evaporator of a household refrigerator. Through these articles, knowledge is provided that can be used to increase the operational efficiency in household refrigeration. LÄS MER
22. Left atrial function in health and disease
Sammanfattning : The Objectives of this thesis are:1) To study possible atrial interaction in patients with right and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction due to significant pulmonary (PS) and aortic valve stenosis (AS), respectively.2) To assess left atrial (LA) intrinsic myocardial function and its relationship to indirect measures of left ventricular (LV) filling pressures in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). 23. Transport and Sorption Phenomena in Concrete and Other Porous Media
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is mainly focused on transport processes involved in service life predictions of concrete. Two papers and three reports deal with ion transport in pore solution of concrete. LÄS MER
24. Coarse-Grained Models of Ionic Solutions
Sammanfattning : Room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are compounds composed entirely of ions, which are liquid at temperatures below 100 degrees Celsius. Their high ionic strength and strong coupling make them useful for a number of applications, e.g. as electrolytes in supercapacitors. LÄS MER
25. Early age properties of self-compacting concrete - Effects of fine aggregate and limestone filler
Sammanfattning : Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a sensitive mix, strongly dependent on the composition and the characteristics of its constituents. It has to possess the incompatible properties of high flowability together with high segregation resistance, a balance made possible by the dispersing effect of water-reducing admixture combined with cohesiveness produced by a high concentration of fine particles.
