11. Electrifying the Molecules of Life : Peptide and Protein Analysis by Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the current status and novel aspects of the analysis of the molecules of life, i.e. peptides and proteins, using capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled to mass spectrometry (MS) via (sheathless) electrospray ionization (ESI). Early reports of sheathless CE-ESI-MS were plagued by limited lifetimes of the electrospray emitter. LÄS MER
12. Surface Modified Capillaries in Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Mass Spectrometry : Method Development and Exploration of the Potential of Capillary Electrophoresis as a Proteomic Tool
Sammanfattning : The increased knowledge about the complexity of the physiological processes increases the demand on the analytical techniques employed to explore them. A comprehensive analysis of the entire sample content is today the most common approach to investigate the molecular interplay behind a physiological deviation. LÄS MER
13. Improved techniques for CE and MALDI-MS including microfluidic hyphenations foranalysis of biomolecules
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, improved techniques for biomolecule analysis using capillary electrophoresis (CE) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) and hyphenations between those have been presented.A pre-concentration method which is possible to apply in both techniques, has also been investigated. 14. Capillary Electrophoresis Methodology for Complex Biological Sample Matrices
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on five papers where capillary electrophoresis (CE) is utilised for determination of various analytes in complex biological matrices.... LÄS MER
15. Capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry applied to structural proteomics and small molecule analysis
Sammanfattning : Capillary electrophoresis with mass spectrometric (CE–MS) detection offers a separation method without equal in terms of flexibility, utility, and cost efficiency. Here we demonstrate precisely this through the application of several laboratory-built CE–MS instruments for the separation of brain metabolites in non-primates, enantioselective separations of synthetic anesthetic metabolites in fractionated pony urine, application in structural proteomics workflows, and identification of exogenous alkaloid biotransformationproducts in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
