1. Study and Modeling of the Reduction of Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides and Hydrogen Chloride by Dry Injection Technologies
Sammanfattning : The potential and mechanism to reduce acid gases, such as SO2, NOx and HCl by dry Ca-based sorbents have been studied to improve the efficiencies of the process and sorbent utilization. Several natural limestones were tested for SO2 removal. Calcium conversion as high as 45% was achieved within 0.3 s at 1000°C, 1000 ppm SO2 and Ca/S=1. LÄS MER
2. Synthesis of AlON and MgAlON Ceramics and Their Chemical Corrosion Resistance
Sammanfattning : In view of the excellent mechanical, chemical and opticalproperties, AlON (Aluminum oxynitride) as well as MgAlON(Magnesium Aluminum oxynitride) have drawn the attention ofmaterials scientists in past decades. In this thesis, thermodynamic properties, synthesis and corrosion resistance tooxygen and slag of AlON and MgAlON ceramics have beeninvestigated. LÄS MER
3. Experimental and modelling studies of the thermophysical and thermochemical properties of some slag systems
Sammanfattning : In order to optimize the metallurgical processes it is necessary to improve the understandings of the industrial slag properties, which include thermophysical and thermochemical properties. In the present study Mass Triangle Model was applied to predict these properties. LÄS MER
4. A Study on the Reaction between MgO Based Refractories and Slag-Towards the Development of Carbon-free Lining Material
Sammanfattning : In present thesis, the fundamental studies on the reaction between MgO based refractories and slag were undertaken for the development of a carbon-free bonding MgO lining material. Alumina was selected as a potential binder material. Due to MgO-Al2O3 chemical reaction, the developed refractory was bonded by MgO·Al2O3 spinel phase. LÄS MER
5. Investigations on the Oxidation of Iron-chromium and Iron-vanadium Molten Alloys
Sammanfattning : With the progress of high alloy steelmaking processes, it is essential to minimize the loss of valuable metals, like chromium and vanadium during the decarburization process, from both economic as well as environmental view points. One unique technique to realize this aim, used in the present work, is the decarburization of high alloy steel grades using oxygen with CO2 in order to reduce the partial pressure of oxygen. LÄS MER
