  1. 1. Therapeutic Cancer Vaccines Targeting Molecules Associated with Tumor Angiogenesis

    Författare :Julia Femel; Anna-Karin Olsson; Grietje (Ingrid) Molema; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tumor; therapeutic; cancer vaccine; angiogenesis; vasculature; fibronectin; galectin-1; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap; Biomedical Laboratory Science; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Induction of an endogenous antibody response by therapeutic vaccination could provide an alternative to cost-intensive monoclonal antibody-based treatments for cancer. Since the target of a cancer vaccine will most likely be a self-antigen, self-tolerance of the immune system must be circumvented. LÄS MER

    Författare :Elisabeth J. M Huijbers; Anna-Karin Olsson; Arjan W. Griffioen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vaccine; Therapeutic; Cancer; Tumor; Angiogenesis; Immunization; Vascular; Extracellular matrix; Biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap; Biomedical Laboratory Science; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : A treatment strategy for cancer is the suppression of tumor growth by directing an immune response to the tumor vessels, which will destroy the tissue.In this thesis we describe the development of a vaccine that targets antigens expressed around angiogenic vasculature in most solid tumors. 3. 3. Cancer Immunotherapy : Oncolytic viruses and CAR-T cells

    Författare :Jing Ma; Di Yu; Magnus Essand; Mia Phillipson; Mohanraj Ramachandran; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer immunotherapy; Oncolytic viruses; chimeric antigen receptor CAR -T cells; Helicobacter pylori Neutrophil Activating Protein;

    Sammanfattning : Various forms of cancer immunotherapy have developed rapidly with improved survival and quality of life for cancer patients. Cancer immunotherapy aims to educate the patient’s immune system to eliminate cancer cells, including immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), adoptive cell transfer (mostly T cells), oncolytic viruses (OVs) and cancer vaccines. Sammanfattning : In the last decade cancer immunotherapy has taken huge strides forward from bench to bedside and being approved as drugs. Cancer immunotherapy harnesses the power of patient’s own immune system to fight cancer. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vaccine Therapy of Colorectal Cancer Patients with Tumor Associated Antigens

    Författare :Gustav Ullenhag; Håkan Mellstedt; Carl Magnusson; Bengt Glimelius; Torgny Stigbrand; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, two different vaccines were evaluated as adjuvant therapy for patients with colorectal cancer. The ability of the two candidate vaccines to generate antigen-specific cellular and humoral responses, respectively, was studied. LÄS MER
