  1. 1. Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer - Molecular Genetics and Biology of Associated Tumors

    Författare :Maria Planck; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; endometrial cancer; rectal cancer; colon cancer; mismatch repair protein expression; coding repeats; microsatellite instability; MSH6; MSH2; Hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer; MLH1; small bowel cancer; Cytology; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on one of the most common types of hereditary cancer, hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). This syndrome is characterized by an autosomal dominant inheritance, an increased risk for several types of cancer (especially cancer of the colorectum, small bowel, endometrium, ovary and urinary tract), early age at diagnosis, and frequent development of multiple primary malignancies. 2. 2. Aspects of Progression in Breast Carcinoma : from ductal carcinoma in situ to invasive cancer

    Författare :Wenjing Zhou; Fredrik Wärnberg; Marie-Louise Fjällskog; Carl Blomqvist; Malin Sund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; progression; ductal carcinoma in situ; breast cancer; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : In the past decades our knowledge concerning breast cancer progression from ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to invasive cancer has grown rapidly. However, molecular factors driving the progression are still largely unknown. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Macrophages are cells of the innate immune system that can be found in large quantities in cancer tumors and affect cancer progression by regulating growth and invasiveness of cancer cells. There are two main phenotypes of macrophages denoted M1 and M2. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Genetic variation and prostate cancer : population-based association studies in Sweden

    Författare :Sara Lindström; Henrik Grönberg; Fredrik Wiklund; John Todd; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; epidemiology; SRD5A2; ERG; progression; genetics; association studies; polymorphism; haplotype; CDH1; AR; CYP17; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer constitutes the most common malignancy and the most common cause of cancer‐related death in Swedish men. A large body of evidence suggests that inherited genetic variants contribute to both development and progression of prostate cancer. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular Genetic Alterations In Endometrial And Ovarian Cancers

    Författare :Anjila Koul; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; KRAS; PTEN; TP53; Overexpression; Mutation; Microsatellite instability; Complex atypical hyperplasia; Endometrial cancer; Ovarian cancer; cancer; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; CNS metastasis; Cytogenetic analysis; BRCA2; BRCA1; B-catenin; CDKN2A;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecological cancer diagnosed in western countries. Complex atypical hyperplasia (CAH) reflects a state of hyperestrinism and its role as a precursor lesion of this cancer is established. LÄS MER
