11. Non-enhanced single-energy computed tomography of urinary stones
Sammanfattning : Computed tomography (CT) is the mainstay imaging method for urinary stones. The aim of this thesis was to optimize the information obtained from the initial CT scan to allow a well-founded diagnosis and prognosis, and to guide the clinician as early and as far as possible in the further treatment of urinary stone disease. Sammanfattning : Living kidney donation is a clinical situation with unique features in the sense that healthy individuals voluntarily expose themselves to certain risks and inconveniences. Therefore, eliminating as much of the associated discomfort as possible is crucial. LÄS MER
13. Computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
Sammanfattning : Certain aspects of the use of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) were evaluated in patients with non-Hodgkin'slymphoma (NHL) with the aim of improving the management of these patients.Subjective evaluation of the tumor pattern on CT images, and quantification of tracer uptake using 11C methionine (11C Met) and [18F] fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) PET in patients with NHL, were performed to determine their relations to malignancy grade. 14. Scaphoid Fractures - epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment
Sammanfattning : Abstract The scaphoid is the most commonly fractured carpal bone. The diagnosis is difficult and untreated the long-term results are poor. Approximately 10% do not unite even if they are treated properly. The aim of this thesis was to study scaphoid fracture epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment. LÄS MER
15. Diagnosis and evaluation of therapeutic response of bone metastases
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to investigate different aspects of different imaging modalities in the diagnosis of bone metastases and in the assessment of their response to therapy. The role of CT, with and without clinical information, was investigated as compared to CT-guided bone biopsy in the evaluation of suspected bone metastases. LÄS MER
