  1. 1. Language Constructs for Safe Parallel Programming on Multi-Cores

    Författare :Johan Östlund; Tobias Wrigstad; Ludovic Henrio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Programming Languages; Type Systems; Ownership Types; Concurrency; Parallelism; Actors; Active Objects; Structured Parallelism; Data Race-Freedom; Immutability; Uniqueness; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Sammanfattning : The last decade has seen the transition from single-core processors to multi-cores and many-cores. This move has by and large shifted the responsibility from chip manufacturers to programmers to keep up with ever-increasing expectations on performance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Feedback Enhancement of Antibody Responses via Complement and Fc Receptors

    Författare :Jörgen Dahlström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Mouse; transgenic knockout; immune regulation; B lymphocytes; Fc receptors; complement; IgG; IgM; IgE; Fc-gamma-RI; Fc-gamma-RII; Fc-gamma-RIII; CR1; CR2; CD21; CD35; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : IgG, IgM and IgE in complex with antigen have the capacity to regulate specific immune responses. In this investigation, the role of Fc receptors for IgG (FcγRI, FcγRII and FcγRIII) and complement receptors 1 and 2 (CR1/2) for antibody-mediated enhancement of antibody responses are investigated. 3. 3. The Role of IgM and Complement in Antibody Responses

    Författare :Christian Rutemark; Birgitta Heyman; Claus Nielsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Complement; antibody response; mutated IgM; natural IgM; complement receptors; SIGN-R1; SAP; CRP; B cells; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : An intact complement system including the complement receptors 1 and 2 (CR1/2) is crucial for the generation of a normal antibody response in animals and humans. Moreover, activation of the classical pathway is thought to be important since deficiency in complement components C1q, C2, C4 or C3 lead to impaired antibody responses. LÄS MER

  4. 4. IgM and Complement in Regulation of Antibody Responses

    Författare :Anna Sörman; Birgitta Heyman; Michael Holers; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgG; GC responses; feedback regulation; T-cell responses; antigen presentation; complement receptors 1 and 2; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Animals deficient in complement components C1q, C4, C3, and CR1/2 have severely impaired antibody responses. C1q is primarily activated by antibody-antigen complexes. Antigen-specific IgM in complex with an antigen is able to enhance the antibody response against that antigen. This is dependent on the ability of IgM to activate complement. LÄS MER

  5. 5. B cells in Autoimmunity : Studies of Complement Receptor 1 & 2 and FcγRIIb in Autoimmune Arthritis

    Författare :Kajsa Prokopec; Sandra Kleinau; Anna Erdei; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; complement receptors; fc gamma receptor IIb; autoimmune arthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : B cells are normally regulated to prevent activation against self-proteins through tolerance mechanisms.  However, occasionally there is a break in tolerance and B cells can become self-reactive, which might lead to the development of autoimmune disease. LÄS MER
