  1. 1. Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases for green production of cellulose nanomaterials

    Författare :Salla Koskela; Qi Zhou; Markus Linder; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cellulose; enzyme; CNC; CNF; LPMO; nanocellulose; wood; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cellulose is the main structural polymer in wood, and its potential in the form of nanomaterial building blocks, nanocelluloses, has now been recognized. Nanocelluloses, including cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), have become increasingly important in development of modern sustainable materials. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Microfibrillated cellulose: Energy-efficient preparation techniques and applications in paper

    Författare :Mikael Ankerfors; Lars Wågberg; Akira Isogai; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microfibrillated cellulose; microfibrillar cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; nanofibrillar cellulose; cellulose nanofibrils; nanocellulose; MFC; NFC; CNF; production techniques; energy efficient; gel properties; films; enzymes; carboxymethylation; carboxymethyl cellulose; CMC; mechanical properties; oxygen barrier; homogenization; linting; papermaking; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : This work describes three alternative processes for producing microfibrillated cellulose (MFC; also referred to as cellulose nanofibrils, CNF) in which bleached pulp fibres are first pretreated and then homogenized using a high-pressure homogenizer. In one process, fibre cell wall delamination was facilitated by a combined enzymatic and mechanical pretreatment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Inorganic and organic polymer-grafted nanoparticles : their nanocomposites and characterization

    Författare :Carmen Cobo Sanchez; Eva Malmström; Henrik Hillborg; Anna Barros Timmons; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Si-ATRP; ATRP; polyelectrolytes; rGO; aluminium oxide; silica; CNF; CNC; PCL; LDPE; EBA; nanocomposites; matrix-free; extrusion; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Nanocomposites (NCs) have been widely studied in the past decades due to the promising properties that nanoparticles (NPs) offer to a polymer matrix, such as increased thermal stability and non-linear electrical resistivity. It has also been shown that the interphase between the two components is the key to achieving the desired improvements. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sensing capability of nanomodified Portland cement composites

    Författare :Thanyarat Buasiri; Andrzej Cwirzen; Karin Habermehl-Cwirzen; Jan Olek; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sensing cementitious composites; nanomodified Portland cement; Carbon nanofibers; CNF; piezoresistive materials; sensor; cement-based sensor; self-monitoring; sensing capability; Byggmaterial; Building Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Sensing cement-based composites refer to composites that have sensing functionality that can measure several physical and chemical parameters. Sensing cement-based composites are fabricated by incorporating some functional fillers, such as conductive fibers (CFs), carbon nanofibers (CNFs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and graphene, into conventional concrete. 5. 5. Colloidal interactions and orientation of nanocellulose particles

    Författare :Andreas Fall; Lars Wågberg; Magnus Norgren; Markus Biesalski; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NFC; CNC; CNF; MFC nanocellulose; colloidal stability; orientation;

    Sammanfattning : Nanoparticles are very interesting building blocks. Their large surface-to-bulk ratio gives them different properties from those of larger particles. Controlling their assembly can greatly affect macroscopic material properties. LÄS MER
