21. Echocardiography in myocardial infarction : aspects on diastolic function and evaluation by cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging
Sammanfattning : Background: Echocardiography is routinely used to evaluate patients with known or suspected myocardial infarction (MI). Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) provides the ability to quantify myocardial infarction size (IS), and to establish an underlying diagnosis in MI cases with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA). 22. Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Heart : Image quality, measurement accuracy and patient experience
Sammanfattning : Background: Non-invasive diagnostic imaging of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD) is frequently carried out with cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) or myocardial perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (MPS). CMR is the gold standard for the evaluation of scar after myocardial infarction and MPS the clinical gold standard for ischemia. LÄS MER
23. Effects of postconditioning in ST-elevation myocardial infarction : assessment of myocardium at risk and infarct size
Sammanfattning : Background: Myocardial infarction remains a major health problem, despite recent improvements in detection and treatment. Infarct size is a major determinant of future mortality and morbidity. LÄS MER
24. Interaction of Triglyceride-rich Lipoproteins with Platelets and Vitamin K-dependent Coagulation Factors
Sammanfattning : 1. During incubation of platelets with 3H-arachidonic acid (20:4, n-6) and 14C-cholesterol doubly labelled and colloidal gold labelled chylomicrons (CMs) and chylomicron remnants (CMRs) CMs were taken up more efficiently than CMRs. Addition of unlabelled CMs, VLDLs, LDLs and HDLs decreased the uptake of labelled CMs. LÄS MER
25. Pump Physiology in the Remodeled Heart
Sammanfattning : This thesis aimed to increase the understanding of pump physiology in the remodeled heart compared to normal pump physiology.Study I was a cross-sectional observatory study investigating the regional contributions to stroke volume in patients with heart failure prior to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) and tested the hypothesis that this characterization of pumping could predict CRT response.
