2. Living with chronic kidney disease : perceptions of illness and health-related quality of life
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises two studies concerning illness perceptions and perceived health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The overall aim was to evaluate psychometric properties of a Swedish translation of the Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R) (study I), and furthermore to explore illness perceptions (study I) and HRQoL (study II) in adult patients in different stages of renal insufficiency (CKD stages 2-5). In this thesis we aimed to investigate development of inflammatory properties at different stages of CKD and changes in innate immunity as well as cardiac structure. LÄS MER
4. Impact of chronic kidney disease on the cardiovascular system : studies in non-dialysis patients and healthy people

5. Aerobic exercise capacity in chronic kidney disease
Sammanfattning : Aerobic exercise capacity is impaired in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and it is associated with increased mortality and reduced quality of life. The mechanisms underlying reduced exercise capacity in CKD are complex and a comprehensive understanding is lacking, particularly in non-dialysis dependent CKD. LÄS MER
