1. Immunoglobulin Gene Analysis in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia : Characterization of New Prognostic and Biological Subsets
Sammanfattning : Recent studies have shown that the somatic mutation status of the immunoglobulin (Ig) VH genes can divide chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) into two prognostic subsets, since cases with mutated VH genes display superior survival compared to unmutated cases. Biased VH gene usage has also been reported in CLL which may reflect antigen selection. LÄS MER
2. Natural specific T cell immunity in patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (B-CLL) : (A clinical and immunological study)
Sammanfattning : Analysis of TCRBV (T-cell receptor B variable) gene usage of the T cell repertoire in patients with B cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (B-CLL) and age-matched healthy control donors showed that major perturbations were more frequently seen in the CD4+ T cell subset than in CD8 population. Analysis of the CDR3 length polymorphism revealed a significantly higher degree of clonality within the CD4+ and CD8+ T cell repertoire of patients as compared to the normal control population. 3. Studies of T cells in health and disease : receptor usage and cytokine expression
Sammanfattning : T Iymphocytes are crucial components for the initiation and maintenance of an immune response. To identify and characterize different T cells and their antigen specific receptors has important bearing for the understanding of underlying mechanisms in immunopathological processes and also to allow for the design of therapeutic therapies to be used for modulation of immune responses. 4. Immune reconstitution after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Sammanfattning : After treatment with allogeneic hernatopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) the patient suffers from a deficient immune system for at least 12 months or longer. During this period, the patient is susceptible to infections and if the state of immune deficiency is prolonged there is an increased risk of relapse of the underlying malignancy as well as development of secondary malignancies. 5. NGS based studies on primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) : causative gene identification, tool development and application
Sammanfattning : Primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDs) are composed by a group of highly heterogeneous immune system diseases, of which approximately 350 forms of PID have been described so far. The causative gene of around 60% of patients with PIDs has yet unknown. LÄS MER
