  1. 1. The Role of CCK-A and CCK-B Receptors in the Trophic Control of Pancreas and Oxyntic Mucosa in the Rat

    Författare :Anna-Greta Nylander; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fysiologi; Physiology; trophic effects; rats; portacaval shunt; oxyntic mucosa; gastrin; Cholecystokinin; enterochromaffin-like ECL cells; CCK-A CCK-B receptor; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cholecystokinin (CCK) and the related hormone gastrin have been claimed to exert trophic effects in the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. Two types of receptors for CCK and gastrin are known to exist, the CCK-A and the CCK-B receptor. They differ in their affinty for CCK and gastrin. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Regulation of the exocrine pancreas in growing pigs, with special emphasis on entero-pancreatic reflexes

    Författare :Lena Evilevitch; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kidney bean lectin; Animal physiology; Djurfysiologi; duodenum; entero-pancreatic reflex; insulin; lipas; amylas; trypsin; weaning; development; maturation; inhibition; CCK-receptors; Exocrine pancreas; CCK; pig;

    Sammanfattning : The regulation of the exocrine pancreas has been under thorough investigation for many decades. In rats, cholecystokinin (CCK) is considered to be the major gut hormone stimulating the pancreas to releasing the digestive enzymes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The role of endogenous hypercholecystokininemia and hypergastrinemia in growth and carcinogenesis of the exocrine pancreas

    Författare :Ming Chu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The gut hormones cholecystokinin (CCK) and gastrin are phylogeneticallyand structurally related. Under normal conditions, CCK regulates growth of the exocrine pancreas and gastrin growth of the oxyntic mucosa of the stomach. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Secretory and anti-inflammatory actions of some gastro-intestinal hormones in salivary glands

    Författare :Hülya Çevik Aras; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :salivary glands; protein secretion; synthesis; inflammation; β-defensins; myeloperoxidase; cholecystokinin; gastrin; melatonin; nitric oxide; nerve stimulation;

    Sammanfattning : Textbooks generally state that the secretory activity of salivary glands is solely regulated by nerves. This view is challenged in the present Thesis, using the parotid gland of the anaesthetized rat as experimental in vivo model. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cholecystokinin, dopamine and glutamate in subcortical and peripheral control of food intake

    Författare :Min Qian; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; cholecystokinin; dopamine; glutamate; food intake;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyzes some of the mechanisms whereby cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8) inhibits food intake in male rats. Depletion of monoamines using reserpine blocked the capacity for ingestive responses. These responses were restored in reserpinized rats by treatment with the non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist MK-801. LÄS MER
