  1. 21. Performance Studies and Star Tracking for PoGOLite

    Författare :Cecilia Marini Bettolo; Mark Pearce; Nicolas Produit; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polarization; pulsars; x-ray; PoGOLite; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik;

    Sammanfattning : PoGOLite is a balloon-borne experiment, which will study polarized soft γ-ray emissionfrom astrophysical targets in the 25-80 keV energy range by applying well-typephoswich detector technology. Polarized γ-rays are expected from a wide variety of sources including rotation-powered pulsars, accreting black holes and neutron stars,and jet-dominated active galaxies. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Colorimetric and Multispectral Image Acquisition

    Författare :Daniel Nyström; Björn Kruse; Carl-Magnus Fahlcrantz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Color imaging; Multispectral imaging; Spectral reconstruction; Device characterization; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : The trichromatic principle of representing color has for a long time been dominating in color imaging. The reason is the trichromatic nature of human color vision, but as the characteristics of typical color imaging devices are different from those of human eyes, there is a need to go beyond the trichromatic approach. 3. 23. Combustion Engine Characterization and Development by Means of Laser Diagnostics

    Författare :Mattias Richter; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; framdrivningssystem; Laser technology; Laserteknik; plasma; fluiddynamik; Gaser; plasmas; Gases; fluid dynamics; Motorer; laser engine lif plif; Motors and propulsion systems; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Richter;

    Sammanfattning : Planar laser induced fluorescence (LIF) has been utilized for two-dimensional imaging in combustion environments. By using tracer LIF the fuel distribution prior to ignition has been monitored in a GDI-engine. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Optical diagnostics of Soot in optically dense sprays

    Författare :Raul Lima Ochoterena; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Soot diagnostics in engines can be carried out with optical methods that have the potentialfor high temporal and spatial resolution. Some of these methods were appliedto study diesel spray combustion in the Chalmers High Pressure, High Temperature(HP/HT) spray rig. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The laser-induced incandescence technique (LII) is a laser-based diagnostic technique for measurements of soot volume fraction and particle size. The technique relies on detection of incandescent light from soot particles heated to around 4000 K using nanosecond laser pulses. LÄS MER
