1. Cost-effective Communication and Control Architectures for Active Low Voltage Grids
Sammanfattning : The monitoring and control of low voltage distribution grids has historically been disregarded due to the unidirectional flow of power. However, nowadays the massive integration of distributed energy resources into distribution grids, such as solar photovoltaics, distributed storage, electric vehicles and demand response programs, presents some challenges. 2. Migration Towards Next Generation Optical Access and Transport Networks
Sammanfattning : By 2020 there will be 50 billion connected devices over the Internet. With the fast-increasing data traffic demand in both fixed and mobile networks, network operators need to migrate networks towards next generation solutions. LÄS MER
3. ICT Platform Integration - MCDM Based Framework for the Establishment of Value Network : Case Study: Mozambique Government Electronic Network (GovNet)
Sammanfattning : The selection of ICT service providers are among many of the challenges in building networks (intranets and extensions to the Internet) due to the high investment on equipment (CAPEX) and on operational costs (OPEX). This thesis proposes a Multi-Criteria Decision Method based decision support framework via the deployment of the Analytical Hierarchy Process method that can be used to improve selection and evaluation practices. 4. CO2 Separation - from Aqueous Amine Solvent to Ionic Liquid-based solvent
Sammanfattning : CO2 separation is one of the most important roles in CO2 mitigation target as many human production activities (e.g., cement, iron and steel, and biogas productions) cause CO2 emissions. The solvent-based absorption is the most mature technology for CO2 separation, where different solvents capture CO2 either in chemical or physical absorptions. LÄS MER
5. Hybrid Routing in Next Generation IP Networks : QoS Routing Mechanisms and Network Control Strategies
Sammanfattning : Communication networks have evolved from circuit-switched and hop-by-hop routed systems into hybrid data/optical networks using the Internet as a common backbone carrying narrow- and broad-band traffic offered by a multitude of access networks. This data/optical backbone is built around a multi-technology/multi-protocol routing architecture which runs the IP protocols in a collapsed IP stack where ATM and SONET/SDH have been replaced by the suite of Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) protocols.
