1. Low smoke halogen-free materials for wire and cable applications
Sammanfattning : Fire safety issues are becoming increasingly important in modern society and cables are one potential fire risk since they can start a fire and/or spread one. Traditionally, materials containing halogen have been used as primary insulation in low voltage power and telecommunication cables and most cables used today therefore contain halogen. LÄS MER
2. Characterisation and Consolidation of Historical Lime Mortars in Cultural Heritage Buildings and Associated Structures in East Africa
Sammanfattning : For the period of several centuries, the influence of several distinct cultures produced rich and diverse cultural heritage that we see today in East Africa countries. The most tangible remains of these heritages are stone built buildings and structures including, palaces, mosques, residential houses and tombs. LÄS MER
3. Surface characterization of the chromium hydroxide and basic calcic deposition layers formed on the steel cathode in the chlorate production process
Sammanfattning : During technical service, the surface of the steel cathodein the chlorate production process changes with respect tochemical composition and morphology. Deposition of insolublespecies from the electrolyte and corrosion products from thebase metal accumulate and form surface layers that influencethe cathode activity with regards to hydrogen evolution, theprimary reaction, as well as to various parasitic reactions. 4. Structure of Hardened Cement-Fly Ash Systems and Their Related Properties
Sammanfattning : The influence of fly ash on the pore structure and microstructure of cement paste and mortar has been investigated. The methods applied include water vapour sorption isotherms, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis and thermogravity/differential thermal analysis. LÄS MER
5. Studies of the influence of ZSM-5 synthesis on activity and stability of Cu-ZSM-5 in leand NOx reduction
Sammanfattning : The growing concern about the global warming coupled with the increasing emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, combined with the climbing oil price, drives the interest to more fuel efficient lean combustion engines for automotive applications. Such engines require new technical solutions for reduction of NOx in the exhaust gases, which are in excess oxygen, where a conventional three-way catalyst cannot be used to reduce NOx. LÄS MER
