  1. 1. Clinical implementation of novel diagnostic biomarkers for epithelial ovarian cancer - Can we improve diagnosis?

    Författare :Maria Lycke; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ovarian neoplasms; EOC; Diagnosis; protein biomarkers; HE4; CA125; Algorithms; RMI; ROMA; NGS; rare mutations; liquid biopsies; screening;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most lethal gynecologic cancer. The 5-year survival is about 30%, a consequence of failure to establish early diagnosis due to unspecific symptoms. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ovarian cancer. Biomarkers, surgical outcome and survival

    Författare :Pia Leandersson; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epitelial äggstokscancer; biomarkörer; kirurgi; incidens; överlevnad; epithelial ovarian cancer; biomarkers; ovarian cancer surgery; incidence; survival;

    Sammanfattning : Ovarian cancer is the eighth most common female cancer worldwide and the most lethal of the gynaecologic malignancies. Around 700 women are diagnosed in Sweden per year. Due to vague symptoms most of the patients are diagnosed with late-stage epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and prognosis is poor, with a five-year survival of 49%. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Early Diagnosis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer - Analysis of Novel Biomarkers

    Författare :Björg Kristjansdottir; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epithelial Ovarian Cancer; Ovarian cyst fluid; Tumor biomarkers; Proteomics; Pelvic mass; Mass Spectometry; SELDI-TOF MS; iTRAQ;

    Sammanfattning : Early Diagnosis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer - Analysis of Novel Biomarkers Björg Kristjánsdóttir Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Institute of Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden ABSTRACT Background: Majority of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is detected in advanced stage with bad prognosis and high mortality. Reliable diagnostic markers are lacking, pre-cancerous lesions in the more aggressive tumors are not clearly defined, vague or unspecific early symptoms, and the localization of the ovaries, deep in the pelvis contributes to late diagnose. 4. 4. The uPA receptor in ovarian cancer. Regulation by EGF and the estrogen responsive membrane receptor GPR30. Soluble uPAR in diagnosis and prognosis

    Författare :Emir Henic; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; G-1.; GPR30; suPAR; prognosis; estradiol; ovarian cancer; EGFR; ER; diagnosis;

    Sammanfattning : Cell migration is the first step of the invasive process, which is part of the malignant phenotype, and the uPA receptor (uPAR) plays a central role in cell migration. We studied the role of EGF and estrogen on cell migration and uPAR expression in ovarian cancer cell lines. LÄS MER
