    Sammanfattning : Background: It has been proved that bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) saves lives; however, which training method in CPR is most instructive and whether survival is affected by the training level of the bystander have not yet been fully described. Aim: To identify the factors that may affect 7th grade students’ acquisition of CPR skills during CPR training and their willingness to act, and to describe 30-day survival from outof- hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) after bystander CPR and the actions performed by laymen versus off-duty medically educated personnel. 2. 2. How can we optimize bystander basic life support in cardiac arrest?

    Författare :Ann-Britt Thorén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; CPR; Education; Training; Spouses; Experience; Qualitative content analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to describe various aspects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and CPR training in order to find approaches for enhancing bystander interventions. Cardiac care patients (n=401) were interviewed with regard to their attitude toward CPR and CPR training (II). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The study inquires into how a specific piece of standardised information, namely the standard for bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), is configured in the practices of lifesaving and bystander CPR-training. Standardisation is commonly thought of as leading to uniformity and order, while practices are dynamic. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Lifesaving after cardiac arrest due to drowning. Characteristics and outcome

    Sammanfattning : Aims The aim of this thesis was to describe out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) due to drowning from the following angles. In Paper I: To describe the characteristics of OHCA due to drowning and evaluate factors of importance for survival. In Paper II: To describe lifesaving skills and CPR competence among surf lifeguards. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cardiac Arrest – mechanical chest compressions, gender differences and coronary angiography

    Författare :Erik Lindgren; Sten Rubertsson; Theresa M Olasveengen; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Cardiac arrest is a major health problem with over 6000 cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and 2500 cases of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) per year in Sweden. Survival are low. Many factors affect the chances of survival, including effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation and optimal post resuscitation care. LÄS MER
