21. Fracture behaviour of acetylated wood : Material characterisation and dowel-type connections
Sammanfattning : In order to increase the competitiveness of timber as a building material in outdoor applications, durability and dimensional stability must be ensured. Acetylation enables an environmentally friendly way to increase both durability and dimensional stability of wood, without introducing harmful substances to the environment. LÄS MER
22. Methods for Aircraft Noise and Vibration Analysis
Sammanfattning : Aircraft noise control engineering is a challange both for experimentally based methods and for numerical analysis methods. Usually noise control installations are designed based on engineering judgement in combination with results from in-flight testing, rather than with nummerical methods, due to the absence of reliable and accurate models. 23. A Network Model Applied to Cellulose Fibre Materials
Sammanfattning : A network mechanics model for analysis of materials made of dry-shaped cellulose fibres is proposed. In terms of the model, the network is composed of fibres of arbitrary distribution in length, curvature, cross-section. stiffness and strength. The fibres are arranged in a random structure according to an arbitrary orientation distribution. LÄS MER
24. Network Modelling for Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Cellulose Fibre Fluff
Sammanfattning : A network mechanics model for cellulose fibre fluff is proposed. 2D and 3D versions of the model have been implemented and the influence of various micro-level parameters on the global mechanical performance has been determined by means of computer simulations. LÄS MER
25. A numerical and experimental study of initial defibration of wood
Sammanfattning : A major drawback of the defibration or refining process in manufacturing pulp is that of its large energy requirements. If the mechanics of the process were better understood, large amounts of energy could probably be saved. The initial defibration seems to be crucial for both the quality of the pulp and the total consumption of energy. LÄS MER
