2. Pathophysiological aspects of transplantation-related complications following busulphan/cyclophosphamide conditioning regimen in mouse model
Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a curative treatment for several malignant and non-malignant disorders. However, transplantation related morbidity and mortality limit its use. The complications of the HSCT procedure can be caused by several factors including toxicity of the conditioning regimen and allogeneicity. LÄS MER
3. Design of Functional Polymeric Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : Most of the devastating diseases such as cancer are relatively incurable and have high risks of relapse. Therefore, persistent endeavors have been devoted to improve patient survival rate and quality of life. LÄS MER
4. Effects on tumor immunity, liver, gut, lung and survival after cutaneous graft-versus-host disease regulated by photochemotherapy

Leukemia is the most common childhood malignancy and an entity of cancer that is increasing in elderly. LÄS MER
5. Targeting the hematopoietic stem cell to correct osteopetrosis
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on developing stem cell targeted gene therapy for the severe hereditary disorder Infantile Malignant Osteopetrosis (IMO) as well as increasing the understanding of how the genetic defect present in IMO affects the hematopoietic stem cells and hematopoiesis in general. IMO is a rare congenital disorder associated with an increased number of non-functional osteoclasts and the absence of bone resorption results in accumulation of sclerotic bone leading to abnormal bone marrow cavity formation insufficient to support hematopoiesis.
