  1. 1. Thermal system analysis of embedded building integrated heating - Numerical model and validation of hydronic floor heating systems

    Författare :Henrik Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; radiant heating; floor heating; low temperature hydronic heating; whole building thermal system analysis; Simulink modelling; Building integrated heating;

    Sammanfattning : A numerical simulation tool for building integrated heating (BIH) systems is developed. BIH is defined as a heat supply system that maintains the indoor thermal comfort within acceptable limits by means of a controlled heat supply to the inner of the building envelope/structure. 2. 2. Thermal Modelling of Water-Based Floor Heating Systems - supply temperature optimisation and self-regulating effects

    Författare :Henrik Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low temperature heating; self-regulation; predictive control; Floor heating;

    Sammanfattning : Low temperature water-based concrete embedded floor heating systems are studied. The utilisation of low quality heat sources is facilitated by low temperature heating. Theoretical models which describe the transient thermal floor heating operation constitute the basis for the analysis. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Applicability of thermal energy storage in future district heating system - Design methodologies and performance evaluations

    Författare :Yichi Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-temperature district heating; demand-side management; low energy buildings; Thermal energy storage; district heating; variable renewable energy;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) enables efficient and economical utilization of energy resources to satisfy the heat and hot water demands in buildings and is, thereby, well-established in Northern European countries. To achieve the future renewable energy system, the current DH systems are proved to undergo transitions towards the future DH systems, with major characteristics including renewable-based heat sources, low temperature networks, lower heating demands and smart controls. 4. 4. Integrated Control of Heat Pumps

    Författare :Fredrik Karlsson; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; variable speed compressor; superheat; electronic expansion valve; optimisation; performance indication; control; heat pump; energy efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to investigate the potential and prerequisites for improved energy efficiency of heat pump systems using efficient components and proper methods for optimisation of operation. The background is that several investigations have reported on possibilities for increased energy efficiency of heat pumps if variable-speed capacity control is used instead of conventional on/off control. 5. 5. Multi-dimensional approach used for energy and indoor climate evaluation applied to a low-energy building

    Författare :Fredrik Karlsson; Bahram Moshfegh; Hazim Awbi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-energy building; energy; indoor climate; simulation; Lågenergihus; energi; inomhusklimat; simulering; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The building sector alone accounts for almost 40% of the total energy demand and people spend more than 80% of their time indoors. Reducing energy demand in buildings is essential to the achievement of a sustainable built environment. At the same time, it is important to not deteriorate people’s health, well-being and comfort in buildings. LÄS MER
