21. Application, Optimisation and Evaluation of Deep Learning for Biomedical Imaging
Sammanfattning : Microscopy imaging is a powerful technique when studying biology at a cellular and sub-cellular level. When combined with digital image analysis it creates an invaluable tool for investigating complex biological processes and phenomena. LÄS MER
22. Imaging spectropolarimetry of solar active regions
Sammanfattning : Solar magnetic fields span a wide range of spatial scales from sunspots and plages to magnetic bright points. A clear understanding of the physical processes underlying the evolution of these magnetic features requires high-resolution spectropolarimetric observations of solar active regions and comparisons with synthetic data from simulations. 23. Morphological changes in mycobacteria
Sammanfattning : Morphological variations at different stages and conditions of growth has been observed frequently in various mycobacteria. Despite years of research, the molecular basis of such variations is still not clear and requires further elucidation. LÄS MER
24. Pulse Generation and Detection through Intra-Cavity Up-Conversion
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns two main categories: pulse detection and pulse generation, however both utilise intra-cavity up-conversion. The work regarding pulse detection deals with up-conversion LIDAR and was split into two smaller projects, the first one focused on the resolution in measurements along one line with multiple reflections, and the second focused on measurements further into the MIR, as well as performing 3D imaging. 25. Understanding Zircon Geochronology - Constraints from Imaging and Trace Elements
Sammanfattning : Formation of incipient charnockite in Söndrum, SW Sweden and the Kerala Khondalite Belt (KKB), S. India is accompanied by zircon growth. The age of the dehydration event is constrained by dating newly formed zircon to 1397±4 Ma (2?, MSWD=1.7) in Söndrum and ca. LÄS MER
