  1. 11. Biogas Production from Citrus Wastes and Chicken Feather : Pretreatment and Co-digestion

    Författare :Gergely Forgács; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anaerobic digestion; pretreatments; co-digestion; economic analyses; citrus wastes; feather; Energi; material; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : Anaerobic digestion is a sustainable and economically feasible waste management technology, which lowers the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs), decreases the soil and water pollution, and reduces the dependence on fossil fuels. The present thesis investigates the anaerobic digestion of waste from food-processing industries, including citrus wastes (CWs) from juice processing and chicken feather from poultry slaughterhouses. 2. 12. Supply chain resilience through quality management

    Författare :Roy Andersson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; supply chain strategy; risk; robust; Six Sigma; quality; logistics; management; TQM; Lean; resilient; flexible; collaboration.; Agile;

    Sammanfattning : The length and complexity of the supply chain tend to increase, rather than diminish, thereby making the supply chain riskier and less predictable and, hence, more vulnerable. At the same time, customers are becoming increasingly demanding. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Conjugated Polymer-based Conductive Fibers for Smart Textile Applications

    Författare :Tariq Bashir; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electro-active fibers; poly 3; 4-ethylenedioxythiophene PEDOT ; viscose; polyester; chemical vapor deposition CVD process; electrical characterizations; smart textiles; stretch sensor; Organic Electronics; Smart Textiles; textile yarns; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Sammanfattning : Electrically conductive or electro-active fibers are the key components of smart and interactive textiles, which could be used in medical, sports, energy, and military applications in the near future. The functionalization of high-performance textile yarns/fibers with conjugated polymers can produce conductive fibers with better electro-mechanical properties, which is difficult with commonly used spinning techniques. 4. 14. Waste Textiles Bioprocessing to Ethanol and Biogas

    Författare :Azam Jeihanipour; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bioethanol; biogas; biorefinery; cellulose recalcitrance; cotton-based cellulose; enzymatic hydrolysis; pretreatment; recycling; waste textile; Resursåtervinning; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : The work of the present thesis focused on conversion of the cellulosic part of waste textiles into biogas and ethanol, and its challenges. In 2009, the global annual fiber consumption exceeded 70 Mt, of which around 40% consisted of cellulosic material. LÄS MER

  5. 15. The EEG of the Neonatal Brain – Classification of Background Activity

    Författare :Johan Löfhede; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hypoxia; newborn; segmentation; asphyxia; cerebral; classification; neonatal; EEG;

    Sammanfattning : The brain requires a continuous supply of oxygen and nutrients, and even a short period of reduced oxygen supply can cause severe and lifelong consequences for the affected individual. The unborn baby is fairly robust, but there are of course limits also for these individuals. The most sensitive and most important organ is the brain. LÄS MER
