  1. 1. Clinical applications of acoustophoresis in blood based diagnostics

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Biomedical Engineering, Lund university

    Författare :Klara Petersson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2018-02-20]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acoustophoresis; Acoustofluidics; Ultrasound; Microfluidics; Blood; Blood Separation; Blood plasma; Lab-on-a-chip; Point-of-care; Blood diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, acoustofluidics has been used to process blood samples as a sample preparation step prior to biomarker detection. This is often required as the large amount of blood cells otherwise can interfere with the detection method. Acoustofluidics means moving particles or cells with acoustic forces within microfluidic channels. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Blood exposure in health care : health care workers' and patients' experiences

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Ulla-Britt Lymer; Högskolan i Jönköping.; Högskolan i Jönköping.; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2004]

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to describe and analyse health care workers' blood-exposure incidents, protective measures, and the motives behind decision making about risks and protective measures. The aim was also to procure knowledge about patients' conceptions about their care, and if precautions taken by the health care workers were included in quaiity care. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Blood Culture Negative Endocarditis

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Maria Werner; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Infective endocarditis IE ; Blood culture negative endocarditis CNE ; Blood culture; Diagnosis; Mortality; Bartonella; Coxiella burnetii; Chlamydophila pneumoniae; Prevalence; Aminoglycoside;

    Sammanfattning : The lethal disease infective endocarditis (IE) is caused by microorganisms that attack heart valves. Early diagnosis and identification of the causative agents are important for the choice of treatment. Optimal treatment may be difficult to achieve if blood culture negative endocarditis (CNE) is present. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Blood Flow in Human Skeletal Muscle The Effect of Adrenaline and the Influence of a Small Muscle Injury

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet

    Författare :Torbjörn Vedung; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adrenaline; blood flow; blood redistribution; ischemia; muscle injury; skeletal muscle; strain-gauge plethysmography; sympathetic tone; transmural pressure; 99mTechnetium clearance; tennis elbow; venous compliance; venous occlusion plethysmography; 133Xenon clearance;

    Sammanfattning : A variety of vasoregulatory systems are involved in the complex control of blood flow inhuman skeletal muscle. The interaction between these systems where one system canoverride or modify the other makes blood flow regulation complicated. LÄS MER
