  1. 41. CANCER-RELATED GENE REGULATION MECHANISMS

    Författare :Srinivas Veerla; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease characterized by deregulation of cellular functions. The means by which these changes occur may differ among cancer types. However, common to all cancers are that they have changed the genetic programs that determine their characteristics. Genetic programs are mainly regulated by the action of transcription factors. 2. 42. Sex differences in cancer risk and survival

    Författare :Cecilia Radkiewicz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The objective of study I was to delineate and quantify sex differences in cancer risk and survival together with assessing the potential gain achieved by eliminating the excess cancer risk in men. Study II and III aimed to in detail characterize the superior non-small cell lung cancer survival and the inferior urinary bladder cancer survival, in women, with the underlying objective to identify underlying drivers to these two phenomena. 3. 43. Targeting HER2-expressing tumors with potent drug conjugates and fusion toxins based on scaffold proteins

    Författare :Haozhong Ding; Torbjörn Gräslund; Stefan Ståhl; Harald Kolmar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Targeted therapy; affibody molecules; ADAPT molecules; AffiDC; fusion toxins; HER2; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Targeted therapy is an emerging treatment for a variety of cancers. Small- sized scaffold proteins are an alternative to conventional antibody-based targeting molecules. LÄS MER

  4. 44. Tracer development and PET studies : labeled proinsulin C-peptide and an EGFR-TK inhibitor

    Författare :Anna Fredriksson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :PET; imaging; kinetics; oncology; EGFR; PD153035; diabetes; C-peptide;

    Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET), which localizes and quantifies positron decays over time, enables non-invasive in vivo distribution studies of trace amounts of compounds labeled with positron emitters. The use of PET to image disease processes is growing as the number of available tracers increases and, especially, as they become more selective and specific. LÄS MER

  5. 45. LRIG1 in lung cancer : prognostic effects and mechanistic studies

    Författare :Samuel Kvarnbrink; Mikael Johansson; Håkan Hedman; Odd Terje Brustugun; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; lung cancer; metastasis; prognosis; LRIG1; LRIG3; LMO7; LIMCH1; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide as well as in Sweden. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the predominant form, which is largely subdivided into adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. LÄS MER
