    Sammanfattning : Aim: To study the possibility of detecting lymph node metastasis in locally advanced urinary bladder cancer (UBC) treated with radical cystectomy (RC) by using preoperative positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and peroperative sentinel node biopsy (SNB) technique. We also investigate the clinical significance of macrophage traits expression by cancer cells, M2-macrophage infiltration (MI) in tumor stroma and the immunohistochemical expression of biomarkers in cancer cells in relation to clinicopathologic data. 2. 22. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) latent membrane protein (LMP) 2A

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Microbiology and Tumor Biology Center (MTC)

    Författare :Fu Chen; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous human herpes virus which infects more than 90% of individuals in the population and is causally implicated in lymphoid and epithelial malignancies. 3. 23. Urinary tract infection : pathogenesis and complications

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology

    Författare :Olof Hertting; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most common infections in women and children worldwide. If not diagnosed and treated appropriately, it may lead to severe illness and long-term complications. The economic impact caused by UTI on society is significant. In addition, bacterial resistance to common antibiotics is spreading at a high rate. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Molecular cytogenetic investigations of chromosomal abnormalities in prostate and urinary bladder cancers

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Oncology-Pathology

    Författare :Yi Pan; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2000]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prostate cancer; bladder cancer; FISH; SKY;

    Sammanfattning : Tumorigenesis is suggested to be caused by base pair mutations and chromosomal abnormalities leading to inactivation of tumor suppressor genes an activation of oncogenes. However, still it is not clear for the vast majority of these changes how they contribute to the tumorigenesis of the prostate and bladder cancers. LÄS MER
