  2. 2. Atypical femoral fractures: Another brick in the wall : On aspects of healing, treatment strategies and surveillance

    Författare :Hans Peter Bögl; Jörg Schilcher; Anna Fahlgren; Gösta Ullmark; Per Aspenberg; Björn Rosengren; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Atypical femoral fractures are stress fractures of the femoral subtrochanteric and diaphyseal region. It is a common notion that these fractures heal poorly, if at all. In this thesis we show that patients with atypical femoral fractures have a good capacity to generate bone and therefore heal fractures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Association Between Beta-Blocker Therapy and Mortality in Hip Fracture Patients

  4. 4. The Resting Electrocardiogram and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease : A Population-Based Study in Middle-Aged Men with up to 32 Years of Follow-Up

    Författare :Christina Ström Möller; Lars Lind; Björn Zethelius; Johan Sundström; Annika Rosengren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; electrocardiogram; risk factors; epidemiology; population-based studies; cardiovascular mortality; apolipoproteins; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD;

    Sammanfattning : The aim was to contribute to the optimal use of the resting ECG by exploring, in middle-aged and elderly men, the development and regression of ECG abnormalities; the prognostic value of the ECG for cardiovascular disease compared to conventional risk factors; and the impact of age at baseline and follow-up time for prediction of cardiovascular disease.It was based on the Uppsala Study of Adult Men cohort that was started in 1970.
