  1. 1. Caveolae associated proteins and how they effect caveolae dynamics

    Författare :Björn Morén; Richard Lundmark; Volker Haucke; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Caveolae; caveolin; EHD2; cavin; microdomain; microscopy; TIRF; AFM; medicinsk biokemi; Medical Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Caveolae are a type of invaginated membrane domain that has been shown to be involved in several disease states, including lipodystrophy, muscular dystrophies and cancer. Several of these diseases are caused by the lack of caveolae or caveolae-related signaling deficiencies in the tissues in which the caveolar domain are abundant such as lung, adipose, muscle and their related endothelial cells. 2. 2. Mathematical Modelling of Dose Planning in High Dose-Rate Brachytherapy

    Författare :Björn Morén; Torbjörn Larsson; Åsa Carlsson Tedgren; Sebastiaan Breedveld; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a widespread type of diseases that each year affects millions of people. It is mainly treated by chemotherapy, surgery or radiation therapy, or a combination of them. One modality of radiation therapy is high dose-rate brachytherapy, used in treatment of for example prostate cancer and gynecologic cancer. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a widespread class of diseases that each year affects millions of people. It is mostly treated with chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, or combinations thereof. High doserate (HDR) brachytherapy (BT) is one modality of radiation therapy, which is used to treat for example prostate cancer and gynecologic cancer. In BT, catheters (i. LÄS MER
