  1. 11. In-line application of electric fields in capillary separation systems

    Författare :Björn Eriksson; Lars Blomberg; Magnus Andersson; Miroslav Macka; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; capillary separation; conductivity; in-line; electric field assisted liquid chromatography; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The magnitude of an electric field possible to apply in a capillary separation system is limited, because a high electric field causes a too high current through the capillary. Application of the electric field in-line will give an increased conductivity in the column, further increasing the risk of too high currents. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Mobile Fluid Power Systems Design : with a Focus on Energy Efficiency

    Författare :Björn Eriksson; Jan- Ove Palmberg; Heikki Handroos; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This work deals with innovative energy efficient fluid power systems for mobile applications. The subjects taken up concern to what extent and how energy losses can be reduced in mobile working hydraulics systems. Various measures are available for increasing energy efficiency in these kinds of systems. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Invasive group A streptococcal infection : host and pathogen interactions

    Författare :Björn K G Eriksson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Group A streptococci; invasive infections; erysipelas; Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome STSS ; epidemiology; M1 serotype streptococcal pyrogenic exotoxins Spe ; SpeA; toxin neutralization; opsonization;

    Sammanfattning : Invasive group A streptococcal (GAS) infections were studied in 229 patients with a clinical diagnosis of erysipelas and 151 patients with GAS bacteremia, respectively. Beta-hemolytic streptococci were identified in about a third of the erysipelas patients, mostly group A, whereas group G streptococci were identified in about half as many episodes. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Avian Influenza Virus : Deciphering receptor interactions and their role in interspecies transmission

    Författare :Per Eriksson; Patrik Ellström; Björn Olsen; Josef D. Järhult; Åke Lundkvist; Jonas Waldenström; Hans-Dieter Klenk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; birds; glycobiology; glycovirology; host range; mixing vessel; virus attachment; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Influenza A virus (IAV) annually infects approximately 5–15 % of the human population, causing ~500,000 deaths globally. Novel IAVs have emerged and spread pandemically in the human population, but have over time established endemic circulation with reduced pathogenicity causing seasonal influenza. The natural reservoir of IAVs is wild waterfowl. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Studies of New Signal Transduction Modulators in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

    Författare :Anna Eriksson; Martin Höglund; Rolf Larsson; Bjørn Tore Gjertsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute myeloid leukemia; Targeted therapies; Drug development; Tyrosine kinase inhibition; AKN-032; AKN-028; Internmedicin; Internal Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a life-threatening malignant disorder with dismal prognosis. AML is characterized by frequent genetic changes involving tyrosine kinases, normally acting as important mediators in many basic cellular processes. LÄS MER
