  1. 6. Molecular Imaging of HER2 Expression using Synthetic Affibody Molecules : Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation

    Författare :Thuy Tran; Vladimir Tolmachev; Uwe Haberkorn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Biomedical Radiation Science; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular imaging is an emerging multidisciplinary field that addresses the visualisation of diseases at the cellular and molecular levels. This thesis focuses on the development of a synthetic Affibody molecule-based imaging tracer for the detection of HER2 expression in malignant tumours. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Radiation response in human cells : DNA damage formation, repair and signaling

    Författare :Ann-Sofie Gustafsson; Bo Stenerlöw; Andrzej Wojcik; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DNA damage; DNA repair; DSB; NHEJ; DNA-PK; ionizing radiation; heat-labile sites; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Ionizing radiation induces a range of different DNA lesions. In terms of mutation frequency and mammalian cell survival, the most critical of these lesions is the DNA double-strand break (DSB). DSB left unrepaired or mis-repaired may result in chromosomal aberrations that can lead to permanent genetic changes or cell death. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Development of Affibody molecules for radionuclide molecular imaging and therapy of cancer

    Författare :Hadis Honarvar; Vladimir Tolmachev; Raymond M. Reilly; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Affibody molecules; HER2; Molecular imaging; Radionuclide targeted therapy; Radionuclide molecular imaging; Labeling chemistry; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Affibody molecules are a promising class of scaffold-based targeting proteins for radionuclide-based imaging and therapy of cancer. This thesis work is based on 5 original research articles (papers I-V), which focus on optimization of molecular design of HER2-binding Affibody variants for high contrast imaging of this predictive biomarker as well as development of Affibody molecules suitable for radionuclide-based targeted therapies.
