  1. 1. Biofiltration of odorous gas emissions

    Författare :Anneli Andersson-Chan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Biofiltration has shown its potential as an interesting treatment alternative for contaminated gas streams. Unlike conventional technologies, such as adsorption, scrubbers, and incineration, biofiltration offers effective pollution control at relatively low capital and operating costs, and without the generation of secondary pollution that may require subsequent treatment. 3. 3. Partial renewal of granular activated carbon filters for improved drinking water treatment

    Författare :Nashita Moona; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biofiltration; Drinking water treatment; Spectroscopic properties; Granular activated carbon filter; Natural organic matter; Online monitoring; Fluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : Drinking water is widely collected from surface water sources. In these water sources, both the quantity and quality of natural organic matter (NOM) have been affected around the world during the last decades, especially in Northern Europe and North America. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biofiltration technologies for stormwater quality treatment

    Författare :Godecke-Tobias Blecken; Jean-Luc Bertrand-Krajewski; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Due to high runoff volumes and peak flows, and significant contamination with (inter alia) sediment, metals, nutrients, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and salt, urban stormwater is a major cause of degradation of urban water ways. Since current urban drainage systems, which heavily rely on piped sewer networks, may not be sustainable, attempts are being made to develop and refine sustainable urban drainage solutions, notably in Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and Low Impact Development (LID) concepts. 5. 5. Biological Pre-filtration and Surface Water Treatment - Microbial barrier function and removal of natural inorganic and organic compounds

    Författare :Gerald Heinicke; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Waterworks in Sweden that apply conventional chemical surface water treatment are facing a number of challenges, including changes in raw water quality and demands for improved particle removal. The chief objective of this work was to evaluate biological pre-filtration for typical Swedish surface water, regarding the removal of natural organic matter, particles, iron and manganese, and taste and odour compounds.
