  1. 1. Downstream Processing Using Membrane Technology

    Författare :Anna Persson; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Biochemical technology; Chemical technology and engineering; Protein A; Bovine serum albumin; Lactic acid; Electrodialysis; Ultrafiltration; Microfiltration; Downstream processing; Membrane; Biokemisk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Membrane filtration is a very gentle separation technique and can be used at low temperatures. This makes it suitable for liquids that contain micro-organisms and/or are heat sensitive, which is often the case in liquids processed in the field of biotechnology. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Lignocellulose is an inexpensive and abundant renewable resource that can be used to produce advanced biofuels, green chemicals, and other bio-based products. Pretreatment and efficient enzymatic saccharification are essential features of bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Bioprocess development for biochemical conversion of lignocellulose

    Författare :Ruifei Wang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lignocellulose; strain engineering; stress tolerance; kinetic modelling; high gravity; scale-up; biofuels; SSCF; process development; Saccharomyces cerevisiae;

    Sammanfattning : Due to its low environmental impact and high maturity of the fuel ethanol market, lignocellulosic ethanol is a promising option for reducing the carbon footprint in the transport sector. The characteristics of lignocellulosic feedstocks, such as varied sugar composition, low sugar density, low solubility, recalcitrance to enzymatic degradation, and inhibitors formed during thermochemical pretreatment, have so far limited the production process, and costs for conversion of lignocellulosic materials to ethanol are still high. 4. 4. Succinic acid production using metabolically engineered Escherichia coli

    Författare :Christian Andersson; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biokemisk processteknik; Biochemical Process Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The prospects of peak oil, climate change and the dependency of fossil carbon have urged research and development of production methods for the manufacture of fuels and chemicals from renewable resources (biomass). To date, the primary emphasis has been placed on the replacement of oil for transportation fuels. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Depolymerization of Lignocellulose by Lytic Polysaccharide MonoOxygenases

    Författare :Madhu Nair Muraleedharan; Paul Christakopoulos; Ulrika Rova; Mats Sandgren; Johan Larsbrink; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biokemisk processteknik; Biochemical Process Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Lignocellulose biomass is considered as one of the most potential and sustainable sources for the production of value-added chemicals and fuels while replacing the traditional petroleum resources. In a biorefinery, by employing biochemical conversion processes,cellulose present in the biomass is broken down into monomeric sugars which can belater converted into fuels or chemicals. LÄS MER
