1. Exploring the SPR methodology for monitoring of critical attributes in toxicity testing and bioproduction
Sammanfattning : Analysis of biological components is central in bioprocess monitoring, process control, product quality control and cell based toxicity assaying. One of these themes that is pursued in this thesis is the use of biosensors for monitoring of molecular markers, exploiting the natural selectivity of biomolecules. LÄS MER

3. Imaging brain aromatase by using PET : A way to study anabolic steroid abuse
Sammanfattning : Aromatase is an enzyme that facilitates the conversion of androgens to estrogens and may play a role in mood and mental status. The main theme of this thesis is the imaging of brain aromatase by use of the PET technique. The PET tracer for aromatase, 11C-labeled vorozole (VOZ) was developed and evaluated by with in vitro and in vivo methods. LÄS MER
4. Pain and pain management with femoral nerve block following hip fracture : effects and experiences: the perspective of older patients and staff
Sammanfattning : Background: Older people with hip fractures are often frail with several comorbidities and roughly half of them have dementia disorders. Pain is common among patients with hip fracture and pain management in these patients is a challenge. Opioids are known to relieve pain while at rest but are not as effective in movement. LÄS MER
5. Synthesis, Characterisation and Application of 68Ga-labelled Macromolecules
Sammanfattning : The positron emitting radionuclide 68Ga (T1/2 = 68 min) might become of practical interest for clinical positron emission tomography (PET). The metallic cation, 68Ga(III), is suitable for complexation with chelators, either naked or conjugated with biological macromolecules. LÄS MER
