16. Numerical study on multi-pantograph railway operation at high speed
Sammanfattning : Multi-pantograph operation allows several short electric multiple unit (EMU) trainsets to be coupled or decoupled to adapt to daily or seasonal passenger-flow variation. Although this is a convenient and efficient way to operate rolling stock and use railway infrastructure, pantographs significantly influence each other and even significantly change the dynamic behaviour of the system compared to single-pantograph operation in the same condition. 17. Genetic modification and mesodermal differentiation of human embryonic stem cells
Sammanfattning : Background: Pluripotent human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are a resource of great potential, available for research. Their capability to differentiate into any cell of the human body and an unlimited in vitro expansion offers the possibility to study the earliest human development and provides a source of cells for regenerative medicine. 18. Microdialysis Sampling of Macro Molecules : Fluid Characteristics, Extraction Efficiency and Enhanced Performance
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, fluid characteristics and sampling efficiency of high molecular weight cut-off microdialysis are presented, with the aim of improving the understanding of microdialysis sampling mechanisms and its performance regarding extraction efficiency of biological fluid and biomarkers.Microdialysis is a well-established clinical sampling tool for monitoring small biomarkers such as lactate and glucose. 19. The Effect of Processing Parameters and Alloy Composition on the Microstructure Formation and Quality of DC Cast Aluminium Alloys
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research is to increase the understanding of the solidification behaviour of some industrially important wrought aluminium alloys. The investigation methods range from direct investigations of as-cast ingots to laboratory-scale techniques in which ingot casting is simulated. LÄS MER
20. Modification of Surface Properties Through Polymer Adsorption. Kinetics, Interaction, Degradation and Stability
Sammanfattning : The interfacial behaviour of polymers in relation to surface modification and polymer degradation was studied. In the first part the interfacial behaviour of amphiphilic poly(ethylene oxide)–poly(D,L-lactide) (EmLn) diblock copolymers at hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates from aquous solution was studied.
